Kinnikuman Wiki

Burning Inner Strength, also known as the 'Fire of Inner Strength' or the 'Kajiba no Kuso Djikara', is the latent power tapped into by various Chojin throughout the series.

About[]

Etymology[]

The original term for the Burning Inner Strength, Kajiba no Kuso Djikara is a variant of Kajiba no Baka Jikara, literally translating to "absurd power at the scene of a fire", more commonly known in English as "Fight-or-Flight Response". The term describes stimulation of the adrenal gland, causing an individual to exhibit incredible feats of strength in moments of peril.

Ability[]

The Burning Inner Strength is a latent power that emerges during a great dilemma. Unrelated to a Chojin's personal power, it adds to their Chojin Power and increases it many times over, allowing a normally weaker Chojin to fight on par with a much stronger Chojin, as well as survive techniques that would otherwise kill them. While using Burning Inner Strength, a Chojin's entire body glows with a bright light.

During the Throne Arc, Kinnikuman has his Burning Inner Strength separated and sealed away after fighting Mixer Taitei, leaving him with only Friendship Power for the time being. Any Chojin can possess this ability, but it is much more prominent in the Kinniku Royal Family, where it is handed down from generation to generation. Those that face Kinnikuman directly are also prone to exhibiting the Burning Inner Strength.

By the time of Kinnikuman (2011), the amount of Chojin that could use this ability had increased greatly with some Devil Chojin and Perfect Chojin being able to use the ability.

Friendship Power[]

According to Nemesis the Burning Inner Strength is closely tied to Friendship Power, making for a righteous Chojin easier to reach it when he feels friendship and kinship for his brethren and the entire world, following his heart of Mercy. One of the challenges Mantaro Kinniku has to face in Burning Inner Strength Challenge Arc to perfect his K.K.D. is learning the value of friendship and trust with his teammates.

As Pirateman notes after his loss to Kinnikuman, the Burning Inner Strength has three stages, powering up considerably each time. The first stage activates when fighting for one's own survival, the second stage activates when fighting for the sake of one's friends, and the final stage activates when fighting for the sake of the enemy they are facing. Omegaman Aristera's misunderstanding of it as a mere powerup prevents him from utilizing it at its full potential. While capable of being powered through negative emotions, a tainted Burning Inner Strength is unsustainable.

While initially seeing it as a threat to the universe, The Man learns that Kinnikuman's Burning Inner Strength is in fact the key to preventing its destruction. Rather than absorbing the limited Chojin Power of the universe and causing instability to one's surroundings, the Burning Inner Strength merely borrows it for an instant, then reverts back to the original Chojin Power afterwards.
