The Mountain (ザ・魔雲天(マウンテン)) is a mountain chojin, member of the Devil Chojin lead by Buffaloman.

About[]

The Mountain was an enormous rocky chojin from the Himalayas. He fought Terryman and although a tough opponent, was defeated when Terryman used a brain-buster him. After his defeat, he broke the ropes suspending the ring in an attempt to take Terryman with him, but failed and The Mountain himself fell to his doom.

He returned in the Perfect Origin Arc. His opponent was Strong the Budo because Buffaloman needed to lead the Seven Devil Chojin to victory. After getting dominated by Strong the Budo throughout the match, the Mountain sacrifices himself to take him down.

His son is Volcano. After striking a deal with Satan to come back, The Mountain trained his son in order to destroy the Justice Chojin once and for all.

Personality[]

He an overconfident warrior in his main technique: the mountain drop. As many other devils in the series, he tend to look down on the Justice Chojin, and because he has a big and powerful body, he knowns that not many attacks can harm him.

Appearance[]

As his own name suggest, his whole body is modeled after a rocky mountain, having a pair of arms and legs. He wears a white gi with a black belt. In the first chapters where he appears, his face is just a pair of hollow holes as eyes, but then he is shown to have a mouth, and his circle-like holes are now a pair of mean-looking black eyes (red in the anime).

Seven Devil Chojin Arc[]

During the celebrations for the 21st Chojin Olympics: The Big Fight, the Seven Devil Chojin are accidentally freed by Kinnikuman.[1] They kidnap Alexandria Meat during the festivities, and each take a body part, and declare that Kinnikuman must defeat each of them to retrieve a part and bring Meat back to life.[2] When Kinnikuman is later injured during his match with Stereo Cassette King, Terryman tries to fight in disguise as Kinnikuman, but it ultimately defeated as the remaining Seven Devil Chojin fight him 6-on-1.[3]

The Mountain finishes this attack with a Mountain Drop. [3]

When Kinnikuman beats Black Hole, he cannot fight any longer and the Justice Chojin decide to fight on his behalf. [4] The remaining Seven Devil Chojin - and Justice Chojin - match up to find their opponents, and The Mountain is matched with Terryman. [5] The match will take place in the Chichibu mountains. At first, it appears that Terryman is alone in the ring, but then the Mountain reveals he was disguised as one of the mountains and was there all along. [5]

They exchange a series of blows, but - while grabbing Mountain in a Spinning Toe Hold - Terryman notices one of the laces on his shoe has snapped. [6] He later is in danger and caught on the ropes by Mountain. [7] Terry attacks with a Deadly Drive, only for another shoe-lace to snap. [8] A third lace snaps, but barely holds together, and Terryman barely avoids a Body Slam. [9]

The last string of Terryman's laces snaps. [10] Terryman is heavily beaten by the Mountain, but - when Mountain insults his fallen comrades - this reinvigorates Terryman into attacking anew. Terryman cries, as he attacks Mountain, even when Mountain is touching the ropes and his actions are illegal. Terryman climbs the ropes and chances a Flying Knee Drop, but the attack causes Terry extreme pain, as it injures his prosthetic leg. The Mountain attempts a Mountain Drop, but Terryman counters with ease and stops the attack. [10]

Terryman ends the match with a Brain Buster. [11] The Mountain reveals that - although defeated - he won't die alone, and the ropes to the ring snap as he grabs at Terryman's ankle. They both fall from an extreme height, which results in The Mountain's death and Terryman's seeming demise. [11]

Despite his death, The Mountain's spirit, with the fallen spirits of Stereo Cassete King, Black Hole, and Mr. Khamen, would go on to haunt Kinnikuman during his match against Atlantis. However, Mongolman, Terryman, and Brocken Jr. interfered by using the Spirit World Portal and turning themselves into ghosts. This gave Kinnikuman enough time to return to his match against Atlantis.

Dream Chojin Tag Arc[]

The Mountain's spirit returns during the match between the Muscle Brothers and the Stray Devil Chojin Combo. Asuraman was prepared by gathering the canvas from every match the Devil Chojin have participated in. When the Brocken Jr. tries the Spirit World Portal trick again, the Mountain caught on and kicks him out before shattering the portal with his fist. Then, he and the rest of the Devil Chojin are sealed away, preventing them for interfere in the match.

Perfect Origin Arc[]

Prehistory[]

The Seven Devil Chojin reconvene in their base. [12] Buffaloman returns, where they all decide which of the Perfect Large Numbers they shall do battle against, and Buffaloman decides to fight against Strong the Budo, due to the fact that whomever fights him will likely lose and he will not sacrifice his teammates. The Mountain refuses to allow this to happen, and offers to sacrifice himself instead, due to the team needing Buffaloman to serve as their leader. He asks only that Buffaloman not avert his gaze during his match. [12]

The Mountain vs. Strong the Budo[]

The Mountain starts the match with a Mountain Drop. Strong the Budo is pinned by the Mountain and is unable to move. Then, he pauses in his match to chastise Peek-a-Boo. [13]

He stands astride the Mountain, as he declares Peek-a-Boo should commit suicide for his failure, and - as Peek-a-Boo states his intention to be a Justice Chojin - Strong the Budo blames Kinnikuman for "corrupting" the Perfect Chojin, with this as proof that the chojin race must be exterminated. He proceeds to karate chop the Mountain's face. [13] Strong the Budo attacks violently with a series of chops, as he seeks to show Peek-a-Boo what will be in store for him, and the Mountain finally catches one of Strong the Budo's arms. [14]

The Mountain catches a series of blows, before using an inner-thigh throw. The string of Terryman's boot breaks, as the Mountain climbs the corner post and uses his Mountain Drop technique. Strong the Budo stops this technique with a kick to the Mountain's torso. A strong punch from Strong the Budo leaves a crater-like hole on the Mountain's chest, after which he breaks off the Mountain's left leg with a low-kick. A Budo Rock-Crushing Claw allows Strong the Budo to lift the Mountain and slam him into the canvas. [14]

Even with half of his face now destroyed, and one leg, the Mountain tries to stand. Strong the Budo tries to turn the Mountain into a human as punishment for his failure in battle, but the Mountain would rather die as a chojin than live as a human. [14] The Mountain uses an armpit-lock, at which point all of Terryman's shoelace snap at the same time. [12] Strong the Budo throws the Mountain to the ropes, before using a Perfect-Warrior Helmet-Breaker. This breaks apart the Mountain's head and downs him.

Strong the Budo poses the Mountain's body in a funeral pose. [14] Strong the Budo proceeds to goad Buffaloman, by stating that he knows General Devil as a close friend, but - during his speech - the Mountain finds enough strength to grab Strong the Budo in a lock, as the suspended ring snaps from its holdings. [15] The two fall together into the Grand Canyon. [15]
