Kinnikuman Great (キン肉マングレート) is a persona shared by four characters throughout both Kinnikuman and Kinnikuman Nisei

About

Kinnikuman Great is a persona used by several Seigi Chojin. He appears in both Kinnikuman and Kinnikuman Nisei, by the following characters: Prince Kamehame, Terryman, Chaos, and Kevin Mask. The disguise has allowed competitors - otherwise ineligible for tag matches - to fight alongside members of the Kinniku Clan

The Greats

The First Great (初代グレート, Shoudai Gureeto) was Prince Kamehame. When the Universal Chojin Tag Arc and Asuraman and Sunshine had stolen the Idol Chojin's Friendship Power, Kinnikuman was in need of a partner. Kamehame volunteered but the rules of the tournament said only Young Chojins could compete, so Kamehame donned the Great Mask and signed in as Kinnikuman Great.

The Second Great (2代目グレート, Nidaime Gureeto) was Terryman. After Kamehame was fatally injured, he asked to see Terry in private. He then asked that Terry take over as Kinnikuman Great right before he died. Terry agreed but kept it a secret from Kinnikuman, who he believed wouldn't trust him as a partner right now. Before his first match as Great, Kamehame's spirit trained him to fight like Great.

Story

First Great

In the Dream Chojin Tag Arc, the 4D Killer Combo await in the first ring, and - as the Muscle Brothers enter - drop down upon them as a preemptive attack. [1] Kinnikuman ignores Kinnikuman Great's attempt to tag in, despite bleeding profusely, and this allows Black Hole to swap places with Pentagon. Black Hole throws Kinnikuman to the ropes; Kinnikuman Great reassures Kinnikuman they are equals, but Kinnikuman is determined to prove himself to what he considers his master. He still tags in Kinnikuman Great, despite his reservations, who uses a martial arts kick to attack Black Hole. They exchange several blows, but Kinnikuman Great temporarily incapacitates Black Hole with a Rolling Savate. [1]

The other teams leave their rings, so that they may watch the match. [2] Black Hole catches Kinnikuman Great off-guard and throws him to the ropes, in an attempt to engage in a German Suplex, but Kinnikuman Great counters with a Reverse Kick. Kinnikuman argues with Kinnikuman Great and trust breaks down, and this leads to the 4D Killer Combo gaining an advantage. As the 4D Combo use 4D Warp again, Great throws Kinnikuman out of the ring so that he may strike Pentagon midair. This fatigues both Pentagon and Great. [2]

Each move Kinnikuman uses on Black Hole becomes countered with Pentagon's Chronos Change, and - as Great comes to the defence - Pentagon uses Time Stop to freeze Great and stop with a Pile Driver. They stop Great with a 4D Cross and he is absorbed into Black Hole's body. [2] The 4D Combo tries to use a 4D Cross on Kinnikuman, but he counters with advice from the voice of Great. [3] Great tries to escape through Black Hole, grabbing his mask in the process, but Black Hole closes access to his dimension. [3]

Black Hole and Great fight within the dimension, and Great uses a Kinniku Buster to defeat Black Hole, while Kinnikuman uses the Kinniku Driver to defeat Pentagon. They combine their attacks into a Muscle Docking, which allows them to win the match. [3][4]

(More to Come)

Second Great

He is saved by Kinnikuman Great, when the Stray Akuma Chojin Combo fight on past the bell, but this act costs Kinnikuman Great a vast deal of injuries and incapacitates him. [5] It is shown that Kinnikuman Great is dying, and he gives Terryman his mask and asks Terryman to act in his place: Terryman agrees. [6]

Prince Kamehame's spirit then trains Terryman. [7]

A tug-of-war determines that Terryman's next match is against the Stray Devil Combo again (due to him assuming Kamehame's position and joining Kinnikuman's team with no one wiser). [8] The match takes place with their competitors surrounding the ring, so no one is allowed escape except through death. [8] Terryman struggles to keep pace in the match, but Kamehame's spirit tells him that he should try to emulate him less and be his own person, and so he starts to use his own techniques and style again. [9]

They begin to work well together as a team, until the cursed canvas comes to life with the spirits of the Seven Akuma Chojin they destroyed in an earlier arc. [10] The Muscle Brothers start to fail once more, when - after sowing seeds of doubt about Kinnikuman Great II's identity - Kinnikuman and Terryman start to fight among themselves, with Kinnikuman demanding to see his face. [11] When Terryman sacrifices himself for Kinnikuman, it reignites their Yuujo Power. [11] The two then manage to win the match, after a series of events and some flashbacks to Asuraman's childhood, with a Muscle Docking technique. [12]

It is later Terryman who discovers Doctor Bombe is deceased, and stops the others from uncovering his dead body, lest it demotivate them, and he then buries Bombe alongside his best friend: Kamehame. [13] The final match is against Hell Missionaries; the ring is surrounded by swords, which will pierce anyone thrown out of the ring or who tries to escape. [14] The match will be a three-round match, with each round lasting ten minutes until the final round, which will have no time-limit attached. [14]

During the match against Neptuneman, some of Terryman's blond hair is exposed. [15] More and more of Terryman's face is exposed, as he panics at the idea Kinnikuman may reject him on learning the truth, and thus leaves himself open to attacks. [16] With only seconds to spare, Terryman is defeated with a Cross-Bomber in the first round and his face is revealed. [17] Terryman has his stars returned to him by Asuraman, who rejects how he gave up earlier, and - thus due to not having technically quit his match - is still eligible to compete in the tournament, as he never technically lost. [18]

They gain an advantage in the second round, and Kinnikuman - now their friendship is renewed - tears his white vest to offer a makeshift bandage to Terryman. [19] They later manage to trick their opponents by switching places underneath the ring and swapping masks, and this lets them gain the upper-hand. [20] Terryman is then knocked out of the ring onto the spikes, where he is incapacitated. [21] They work together, after Terryman recovers to win with a Muscle Docking. [22]

The two of them win the third round when both opponents faint. [23]

They then continue together to retrieve their trophy. [23]

Mantaro Kinniku finds the Kinnikuman Great mask in Chaos' room, in Gakincho House. They decide that Chaos will wear this mask to pass as a chojin and sneak into the Ultimate Chojin Tag Tournament. [24] They enter the tournament as Entry #15. [25] Chaos is nervous and enters carrying a bag, in which he carries a video-recorder to capture the moment, and follows this by tripping on his entrance into the ring, where he falls onto the canvas. [26] Robin Mask helps him to his feet, and Chaos offers him an action figure in thanks.

Chaos - as a fan - proceeds to take autographs from various chojin, as well as take photographs with them, and finally he takes an imprint of Mongolman's face, which angers the other chojin. [26] A battle royale is then announced. [27] Chaos does not participate for a long while, and instead sits on the sidelines to make Kinkeshi of the Hell's Bears. [28] Thunder then attacks Chaos to make him stop making kinkeshi.

To everyone's surprise, Chaos manages to masterful evade every attack.

After he kicks Thunder away, Thunder proceeds to break his Kinkeshi. This leads Chaos to attempt a rolling savate, which is swiftly countered, and a Kinniku Buster upon Lightning, which he fails despite previously having accomplished the move during exhibition matches. Lightning and Thunder manage to leave Chaos on his knees, bleeding profusely, after a series of brutal attacks. [28] Mantaro intervenes and - while holding Chaos - manages to counter attacks and protect Chaos. [29]

Chaos tries to leave, but Mantaro begs him to stay for Kevin Mask's sake. They formulate a plan to constantly run from their opponents to avoid being attacked, and hopefully remain one of the last standing, thus winning by default. [29] On seeing The Alphabet murdered, Chaos suffers a flashback to a burning village from his childhood, and - in his panic attack - only his inhaler can help soothe him. [30]

Neptuneman then attacks Chaos. Chaos manages to counter, and - with Mantaro's help - commits a German Suplex against Neptuneman. [30] Neptuneman then tries to take Chaos in an Optical Fibre Cross-Bomber, but Mantaro intervenes and saves him by throwing Seiuchin's helmet to block the attack. [31] After Mantaro accidentally scares Great, Great suffers another panic attack and faints outside the ring. [32] The battle royale is then announced to be over, and Muscle Brothers Nouveau win as one of the remaining survivors. [32]

Chaos enters the left-most ring in perfect sync with Mantaro. [33]

When Kinnikuman announces a mask versus mask match, Chaos agrees on seeing Mantaro agree, as he completely trusts Mantaro. [34] Chaos offers to go first in the ring, to protect Mantaro, but Mantaro strikes him and enters the ring first. [34] He stays on the side of the ring, where he is able to offer advice to Mantaro. [35] After a series of failed attempts to tag into the match, Chaos finally attempts to attack Terryman from behind. [36] Chaos is then sent reeling by a kick from Kinnikuman.

The two are thrown against one another, and then suffer drop-kicks to the back of the head, which sends them onto the canvas. [36] Chaos - inspired by Ramenman's spirit - attacks Terryman, and together with Mantaro, they are able to counter-attack against The Machineguns. [37] Together, they use the Man-Cha Drop. [37] Chaos manages to then inspire Mantaro, as they seemingly gain the upper-hand. [38]
