Mammothman is a member of Kinnikuman Super Phoenix team, acting as his right-hand man. He is ancient chojin related to the real mammoths.

About[]

Mammothman is a mammoth-type chojin who appeared as a member of Kinnikuman Super Phoenix's team during the final story arc of the manga. His trademark was extending tusks that seemed to have a mind of their own, and would seek out and consume any exposed blood nearby.

He reappears in Kinnikuman Nisei disguised as the teddy bear Michael, teaming up with Warsman as his tag team partner to form the "Hell's Bears". His identity was hinted at when Neptuneman tasted and recognised the ice that fell out of Michael's costume. He reappears in the 2011 revival, after the choushin descend upon Earth, and Phoenix reunite his old team to fight against them.

Personality[]

Despite looking like a big and clumsy brute, Mammothman is an strategic and cunning warrior, always preferring to end his fights quickly. Despite that, he was presented as an evil and merciless villain. Mammothman praises Robin Mask after their fight, implying that he has some honor, but he also seems to have no problems in betraying his partners, since he is seen doing it a couple of times during his tag matches, such as when he abandoned Neptuneman during their semi-final match, and when he abandoned Warsman during a previous match within the same tournament.

Appearance[]

He is a enormous chojin, that looks like a muscular human in a mammoth costume. He wears a big pair of boots that resemblance mammoth feet, as well as a fur vest with chains crossing over his chest. He has a pair of black braces, as well as black shorts. His most distinctive feature is his mammoth head/mask, which he can use in different techniques, using his tusks and trunk.

Relationships[]

Kinnikuman Super Phoenix[]

Mammothman acted as his right-hand man during the final arc of the original series, as well as been his most confident ally and supporter. He seems to have a big loyalty towards Phoenix, since he came back to help him during the choushin invasion.

History[]

Kinnikuman[]

Survivor Match Arc[]

Mammothman first appeared at Kinnikuman's coronation, where he prevented Kinnikuman from attacking Super Phoenix, his master. In the first round of the tournament, he quickly showed his power by slaughtering Kinnikuman Big Body's entire team, but tied on purpose with Cannonballer to allow Super Phoenix to be the one to fight Big Body. Mammothman next saw action in the six-man match between team Super Phoenix and Team Soldier.

In a clash of titans he singled out Buffaloman and the two eventually engaged in a battle of possession of Soldier's Muscle Prophecy page. Buffaloman eventually took him out with a Buffalo Bomb but soon after fell to his death into the canyon below. When Mammothman regained consciousness he took the page and threw it into a torch, causing Soldier to begin disappearing. Later, after learning of Warsman's training to defeat the Big Tusks, Mammothman ambushed Warsman forcing him to drop out of the finals.

Mammothman's final battle was in another six-man match against Kinnikuman, Neptuneman (disguised as The Samurai) and Robin Mask. For the most part, Mammothman fought Robin, doing a number on the hero with his blood-seeking tusks. To make the fight "more interesting," Super Phoenix started to burn the pages of both of the chojin from the Muscle Prophecy book.

The pages' destruction was akin to the chojin never having existed. Robin, master strategist as always, deduced the weakness of the tusks and spilled blood onto Mammothman himself. His tusks turned against him and impaled Mammothman. Robin defeated Mammothman with a Rope Work Tower Bridge. Both, however, disappeared with the immolation of their prophecy book pages, Mammothman crying his hatred for everyone assembled.

Kinnikuman 2011[]

Unnamed Arc[]

Mammothman makes his grand return at the Gates of Hell in Davarsa, USSR. Both Ramenman and Warsman notice his presence as he enters the ring above the pit of burning natural gas. His opponent is Caucasusman. As Kinnikuman Soldier's speech inspired him, Mammothman charges in with a hard body press, followed by a big boot.

After blocking Mammothman's foot with ease, Caucasusman's robes fall out the ring and burn away, revealing his true identity. Upon seeing that, Caucasusman notes that the arena above the Gates of Hell was picked by Kinnikuman Super Phoenix to give Mammothman an advantage. Caucasusman points out this arena will also give him an advantage as well.

He counters Mammothman with an Enzuigiri, forcing Mammothman back. Mammothman rushes back in with a Big Tusk charging attack, but Caucasusman deflects the tusks with a Cuerno Blade. Caucasusman explains that he was the God of Discipline before he discarded that to become a Choushin. He's surprised that Mammothman forced him to use the blades on his helmet. To Rampageman, Caucasusman states that the Choushin are underestimating the mortal Chojin. Rampageman agrees with Caucasusman, adding that the God of Harmony isn't blowing hot smoke at all. The mortals have even defeated the God of Rage, who is now seen as a hopeless god by Rampageman.

In Caucasusman's eyes, the Choushin's descent to Earth has paid off and that he'll keep sharp to prevent a similar incident from happening to him as well. Before Mammothman tells him to shut up, Caucasusman asks Mammothman a question. Mammothman goes for a Powerful Nose Breaker, hoping to break him in two. While caught in the Nose Breaker. Caucasusman compares Mammothman to a mammoth, all brawn and no brain.

Infuriated, Mammothman orders Caucasusman to shut up again and punches him hard. Nonetheless, Caucasusman is impressed with Mammothman's power. Mammothman should be grateful towards his parents for his strength. Mammothman agrees and adds that they also gave him some impressive moves such as the Nose Fencing. Mammothman launches his trunk at Caucasusman, who deflects it with his armor. Frustrated with how he put his all into that Nose Fencing,Mammothman sarcastically praises the armor for saving Caucasusman's sorry life.

Caucasusman goes for a high-speed low tackle, but Mammothman stops it and starts comparing Caucasusman to his most worthy opponent Robin Mask. As a result, Mammothman expects that Caucasusman will give him a good challenge before assaulting him with his Ice Rock Gyro finisher. Once completely frozen, Mammothman chucks Caucasusman into the fiery pit below the ring to give him a "nice hot hell bath".

As Caucasusman plummets to his doom, he boasts that the Gates of Hell will never defeat him and breaks free, giving Mammothman a taste of his own medicine. Mammothman easily swats away the ice with his trunk and says that trick will not work on him. Caucasusman goes for an elbow blow, but Mammothman counters with a Canadian Backbreaker. It seems Mammothman has Caucasusman beat in power. Caucasusman proves Mammothman wrong by reversing the Canadian Backbreaker. Mammothman recovers with a Bridge, freeing him from the grapple.

The two fighters charge at each other again, Mammothman with his tusks and Caucasusman with his horns. Both Mammothman and Caucasusman praise each other for being a worthy opponent. Mammothman likes how Caucasusman keeps finding ways to reverse his many techniques, while Caucasusman likes how Mammothman shows a hidden side of cunning underneath that brute force. As his tusks keep up with Caucasusman's horns, Mammothman reminds Caucasusman that he used to be a part of Team Intelligence in the past. Mammothman follows up with a Big Tusk Drill, attempting to pierce right through Caucasusman's armor.

That armor may be extremely tough, but it can't take the shock pretty well. As Caucasusman praises Mammothman's tactical ability, Caucasusman gets thrown out of the ring again. While climbing up one of the pillars supporting the ring, Caucasusman boasts that Mammothman doesn't know much about beetles. Caucasusman enters the arena with a Moonsault Cuerno, slicing into Mammothman's abdominal area hard. Caucasusman notes that the two are evenly matched with their unique extremities complemented by their many amazing techniques.

Mammothman responds by suggesting that they should "clash [their] greatest weapons against each other". Mammothman charges in with a Big Tusk With Nose Fencing while Caucasusman charges in with a Three Top Cuerno Blade, causing a mighty clash between the two. Winning the clash, Mammothman easily lifts Caucasusman into the air. Stuffing his horn into Mammothman's trunk, Caucasusman switches their positions with a Horn Skewer and shreds up Mammothman with a Big Cuerno Turbine.

Mammothman says that it's just impossible for him to lose because he's the strongest wrestler in the universe and goes for another Big Tusk With Nose Fencing. Caucasusman is annoyed with Mammothman's stubbornness and dodges the attack, causing the turnbuckle to get impaled in the process. Caucasusman kicks Mammothman before lifting him up with ease. It seems Mammothman is not used to the idea of losing. Mammothman is angered and states that Caucasusman is just messing with him. Caucasusman reminds Mammothman of mortal Chojins' arrogance. The Choshin are here to remind them of their limits. Caucasusman adds that someone smaller than Mammothman is indeed "toying with [his] physique".

Trying to break free, Mammothman shouts that Caucasusman talks too much. Mammothman fails, leading to Caucasusman punishing him with a Cuerno Blade Flip. Caucasusman follows up with a Guillotine Drop. Caucasusman likes how Mammothman keeps getting up and points out that his body had enough. Mammothman tells him to shut up and goes for a lariat. Caucasusman easily dodges and goes for a Cuerno Bonfire, skewering Mammothman with all of his horns.

Back at the Hill of Crosses, the Chojin Blood Oath Brigade talk about Mammothman's poor showing in his fight against Caucasusman. Buffaloman talks about how tough Mammothman was during their fight and that Mammothman's calmness unnerved him. The Choushin are crafty enough to place their opponents into tricky situations and Mammothman is not used to that. All they can do is wait for something within Mammothman to break.

Now, that Mammothman is on his last ropes, Caucasusman will put Mammothman out of his misery with his Extreme Cuerno finishing hold. Mammothman is going to "die with the shame [that he bares] along with [his] delusional pride". After falling victim to that powerful grapple, Mammothman hears voices from outside of the ring. As it turns out, it's Warsman and Ramenman, who are cheering him on because they believe he can win. As Justice Chojin, their feelings can be turned into power. The audience joins the cheering as well.

Mammothman hates the cheering, but finds that it gives him new strength. Caucasusman is quite surprised that Mammothman's still standing after that powerful finisher and asks if he's still alive. Mammothman tears off his twisted tusk and beats his chest as he's filled with Friendship Power. Charged up with Friendship Power, Mammothman ignores Caucasusman's concerns and goes for a Big Tusk Charge. Still having an advantage over Mammothman, Caucasusman easily blocks it with his big Cuerno and goes for an Exploder Suplex. Caucasusman tells Mammothman that his newfound power is still pointless and orders him to die in the fires covering the Gates of Hell.

Still cheering for Mammothman, Warsman reminds Mammothman of the fight he had with Robin Mask as it was truly one of the most serious fights he had so far. If he's still fighting for leisure, Mammothman will surely let Robin Mask down. Taking Warsman's words to heart and ignoring Caucasusman's harsh words, Mammothman catches Caucasusman's right foot with ease and takes over the fight with a Dragon Leg Screw. Somehow, Mammothman leaps into the air and does an aerial move on Caucasusman.

Caucasusman manage to grab one of the ropes before falling into the pit, and returns to the ring. he charge mammothman with a Three Top Cuerno Blade, but the Perfect Chojin dodges him, but Caucasusman quickly catch one of Mammothman's legs, and slams him into the canvas with a Fisherman's Suplex. He take Mammothman, and claims that the chojin will never suprass the gods. Taking avantage on Caucasusman speech, Mammothman manage to get free and lock the choushin with his Mammoth Llave, before letting him go, claming that it will be a waste to end the fight too soon.

Caucasusman jumps into one of the corners, and then attacks with his Moonsault Cuerno, which Mammothman counterattacks with his Mammoth Oreille, expanding his ears to catch the choushin in a Blind Alley Ear, but Caucasusman manage to easly escape. This action makes one of Caucausman's horns to blend, so he take it off and throw it away. Both continue the fight, but in a surprising move, motivated by the voices of the spectators, Mammothman manage to break Caucasusman's horn, and impale him with his Sanction Nose Fencing, finally defeating him.

After sharing tears of joy for his victory, he sees as Caucasusman tries to kill himself by jumping into the pit, but Mammothman saves him in the last second. But that doesn't stop Caucasusman of getting free, letting himself fall into the pit after giving some farewells to Mammothman. After that, the ring starts to fall down, and in a last attend, Mammothman takes his capillaria piece, as well as his life sphere, fusing them together and throwing them away to revive another chojin. With this done, he falls into the canvas, as the whole ring falls into the fire.

Ultimate Chojin Tag Arc[]

Battle Royale[]

Mammothman appears as 21st century Warsman's mysterious partner Michael. The Hell's Bears appear before the battle royale event. [1]

A battle royale is announced. [2] They spend a part of the match fighting against the Hell's Carpenters, before turning their attentions against Moaidon. [3] The Jungle Books then attack the Hell's Bears, once the Celebrities are disqualified from the match. [4] They throw the Hell's Bears at one another, but the Hell's Bears lock arms and counter with kicks to their opponents' faces. Hell's Bear #2 takes Savannah into a Bear Hug, while Hell's Bear #1 clutches Gori Max's and falls upside-down with him. [4] Hell's Bear #2 flips himself and Savannah into a sub-ring, and it is then noticed Gori Max is still descending downward, but now he is directly over Savannah's head. [5]

Their heads collide, which knocks them unconscious, and they are then dragged from the ring. [5] The Hell's Bears then attack Illusions by biting them, but are subjected to a devastating counter. [6] Later, they head into the sub-ring to attack Neptuneman and protect Mantaro Kinniku, but Neptuneman then knocks them both out of the ring. [7]

They win the battle royale is won by default, as all other teams are eliminated, and - in the match-up event - are placed against Team Cosmos in the first round. [8] During the event, the Hell's Bears are attacked by Meteoman, which tears Belmond's costume and rips off his eye in the process. [9] The snow that fell out of his costume clues the 21st century Neptuneman in on his identity. [9]

First Round[]

The B-Block first-round match between them takes place at Kanagawa's Kawasaki Stadium. [10] Team Cosmos arrives with capes adorned with the USSR insignia, while the Hell's Bears enter to a fairy-tail parade on a sleigh. [10] The Hell's Bears dance onto the ring in costumes, before coaxing Team Cosmos to dance with them, but this angers Team Cosmos into a Galactica Attack. [11] The bell is then rung, while Team Cosmos lament that the bear costumes feel like a mockery of their homeland's Misha mascot. Team Cosmos then use a Russian Sickle. [11]

Meteoman uses a Meteor Cannon against Belmond. [12] This knocks Belmond back into his corner, while Sputnik uses a No. 1 Cosmos Medallion, and together Team Cosmos launch a rocket into the graveyard orbit above Earth. Belmond then kicks at Meteoman's jaw, while Michael throws Sputnik against the mat. [12] Meteoman attempts an A-Bomb, which Belmond cancels with Head Scissors. [13] While Belmond unleashes a series of attacks on Meteoman, Michael is attacked by Spuntnik, and Sputnik throws him with a double-arm suplex, which causes him to land near to Belmond. [13]

Belmond uses a rolling sobat on Sputnik, as he switches places with Michael, but Meteoman uses another Meteor Cannon into Belmond's legs. Team Cosmos then use a Siberian Storm. This rips open Belmond's back and causes immense bleeding, and - as Sputnik holds him upright - Meteoman kicks continuously at his open wound. Eventually, Belmond uses a Bear Claw as a counter-attack. [13] Belmond then delivers a series of elbow drops to Sputnik's head. [14] Team Cosmos use Sputnik's antenna to pull a rain of space debris down against the Hell's Bears, and the light of which illuminates Belmond's cybernetic body. [14]

Meteoman uses another Meteor Cannon, which is counter by Michael. [15] Belmond breaks off Sputnik's antennas, preventing him from summoning more space debris, and then puts him in a bear-hug, before Michael grabs Meteoman and together they perform a Teddy Crash. This knocks Sputnik and Meteoman down for the count, but Sputnikman stands again and confronts Belmond about his true identity. Belmond proceeds to drill a hole through his body, revealing his identity as Warsman. [15]

This defeats Team Cosmos and kills Sputnikman. [15]

Quarter-Finals[]

The second match of B-Block takes place at Ueno Zoo.[16]

The Hell's Bears take the blue corner, while the Hell's Missionaries take the red corner. Each competitor is locked in an individual cage. [16] A roulette wheel above the cages will determine who will be released and when; five minutes after the first two are released the last two will be released in a staggered manner, one at a time.[17] Once all four have been released, the match will revert to typical tag-team rules.

Michael and Seiuchin are the first to be released.[17] Seiuchin begins by biting Michael on the shoulder, where he continues to drink Michael's blood for two minutes.[18] Michael retaliates with a series of elbow strikes to the legs, followed by a Northern Lights Suplex. After gaining the upper hand, Michael changes his demeanour and acts more brutal and bloody towards his opponent. Just as Michael is about to slam Seiuchin into the iron bars of the cage, Warsman whistles and Michael stops - Neptuneman realises that Seiuchin is controlled by Warsman's whistling sounds. Five minutes pass and the roulette spins again.[18]

Neptuneman is released as the third opponent.[19] Neptuneman and Seiuchin appear to have the upper hand, but Michael uses a Tombstone Bomb Reversal technique to turn the tides.[19] Michael is then targeted by Neptuneman, who suspects Michael's true identity, and purposely aims his strongest techniques at him.[20] He purposely tortures Michael, alongside Seiuchin, so that he will use his full power and this reveal himself.

The Hell's Expansions attempt an Optical Fibre Cross-Bomber, which seemingly decapitates Michael. Warsman is finally allowed into the ring, at which point Michael's headless 'corpse' is reanimated, and Neptuneman rips off the rest of Michael's costume.[20] The identity of Michael is revealed to be Mammothman.[21] Mammothman and Neptuneman fight on an equal basis, while Warsman and Seiuchin fight on the other part of the ring.

Meat reveals that no one recognises Mammothman, due to the timeline currently being 1983, but that Neptuneman - being from the future - still retains memories of events yet to transpire.[21] A flashback reveals Warsman's motivations for recruiting Mammothman; before he was recruited by Super Phoenix, he was an innocent chojin, and thus would be both strong and easily manipulated by Warsman. [22] The Warsman at this tournament is also revealed to be Warsman from the future, who - like Neptuneman - hitchhiked on the time-ship.

Mammothman uses a Nose Chop and Nose Assist on Seiuchin, which is followed by a Nose Fencing. He stops short of defeating Seiuchin, however, due to having Warsman's sense of 'Fair Play'; they realise he has yet to become the Mammothman they know, as such he is not as brutal as he will become.[22]

When Seiuchin is brought back to his senses, both Neptuneman and Mammothman betray their partners, when Warsman had just defeated Seiuchin, and team up in the middle of the match. They knock off Seiuchin's face with an Optical Fibre Cross Bomber, then they defeat Warsman.

Before the semi-finals begin, Satan appears in the sky, and Neptuneman and Mammothman reveal their allegiance with The Five Disasters Thunder and Lightning, throwing a hell-spawned spider at Kinnikuman, which enters his body and forms into an hourglass.

Semi-Finals[]

The Nova Hell Expansions attack the Five Disasters with elbow drops, as they try to enter the ring. [23] They continuously strike their backs like a drum, until Lightning tries to counter and is thrown onto the ring in Tournament Mountain, followed by Thunder being blown into the ring by Mammothman's Ear Gust. The Nova Hell Expansions land on the ring, where Neptuneman throws his cape of faces onto the ceiling. The sides of the War-Cube are replaced by walls covered in swords. [23]

Neptuneman begins the match with a Cross Bomber against Lightning. [24] Lightning catches himself on the ropes, and counters an oncoming Quarrel Bomber with a kick to the back of Neptuneman's head. The gong is then officially rung. Mammothman and Thunder collide, shaking the ground. Thunder then uses a Lion Finger to break the top rope of the ring, but Mammothman uses a Branch Tusk to prevent him cutting the second, and proceeds to throw Thunder onto the swords that litter the floor. [24]

Thunder manages to stand and Mammothman uses another Big Tusk. [25] Thunder uses a Lion Mane to break the branching tusks, before he flies back into the ring, and attacks Mammothman, sending blood hurtling down into the crowds. He follows with a body-press, and Lightning lands on top of him, which sends the swords - still in his body - penetrating into Mammothman. Neptuneman and Lightning tag into the match, trading places with Mammothman and Lightning. [25]

They exchange a series of blows, until Lightning gains an advantage and breaks Neptuneman's left arm. [26] Just as the Nova Hell Expansions attempt an Optical Fibre Cross Bomber in response, Lightning uses his power of Acceleration to escape. [27] Lightning then uses a Double Neck Cut. [27] He escapes another attempt an Optical Fibre Cross Bomber, by forcing them to curve the optical fibres. [28] The Five Disasters then slam both of the Hell Expansions into the ring, and follow with Acceleration to toss both of the Hell Expansions onto the swords outside of the ring. [28]

The Nova Hell Expansions stand again, and Neptuneman uses an Ignition Crash on the Five Disasters. [29] Neptuneman attempts a Quarrel Press, but misses, and follows with a Chojin Hanging on Lightning. This is follows by Mammothman's Nose Freezing. [29] Due to physics, this stops their Acceleration from working and thus is cannot be used. [30] Mammothman uses his Big Tusk, and follows with a McKinley Avalanche against both of the Five Disasters; at this point, a voice calls to Mammothman and tells him to watch out for Thunder's Lion Mane attack behind him. He dodges and uses an Ice Rock Gyro. [30]

The Ice Rock Gyro on Thunder knocks Lightning also out of the ring. [31] The Five Disasters use the blood outside the ring to stick the boards of swords to their feet, which - on returning to the ring - use to kick at Mammothman, whose voice warned him on a trick. The voice continues to advise Mammothman, who uses his Nose Fencing against the Five Disasters, but they counter with a Nose Cleaving Leg Lariat. [31]

Mammothman tries another Nose Freezing. [32] He then uses a Jumbo Nose Catch on Thunder, before using another Ice Rock Gyro, but Thunder breaks out with a Lion Finger, and then uses a Lion Strike. The Five Disasters then use a Disaster Drive on Mammothman. [32] The Five Disasters then use their exotic matter to revert Mount Fuji to the state of an active volcano, which causes debris and boulders from the eruption to rain down on the Nova Hell Expansion. [33]

Mammothman uses his nose to block further debris from striking Neptuneman. [34] Two rocks strike his legs, which knock him down onto the canvas. This is followed by a Hot Rock Gyro from Lightning, and then the Five Disasters team up for a Giant Beat Cremation. [34] The Five Disasters continue to use tag-team moves on Mammothman, as he rises during the countdown. [35] Neptuneman uses his Magnet Power Comeback to stop another Giant Beat Cremation. [35] He follows with a Quarrel Sword Bomber, while the Five Disasters return to using their Acceleration, but this is stopped short by another Quarrel Sword Bomber. [36]

Neptuneman criticises the Five Disaster, as - even though they are all Evil Chojin - he cannot support their lawless nature and breaking of rules, and he goes to Mammothman's defence. The Five Disasters try to use their Death Watch Branding on Mammothman, but Neptuneman stops them with an Iron Bat Squeeze. [36][37] Mammothman confronts Neptuneman, as his actions go against the teachings of a Perfect Chojin, in that they should not help anyone (not even a team member). [37] He uses a Blind Alley Ear against Thunder.

Mammothman eats the volcanic debris, which helps increase his magnetic power, and - with Neptuneman - engages in a Cross Bomber Resurrection. [37] The attack knocks off a piece of Thunder's mask. [38] It fails to rip off Thunder's mask or face, as it is revealed Mammothman purposely failed the attack in order to destroy Neptuneman's arm, as he seeks to maintain the Perfect Chojin teachings, even if Neptuneman does not. [39]

Thunder then takes out Neptuneman's Achilles heel, and a Lion Comb down Neptuneman's back. [40] A Lion Fan takes out Neptuneman's other arm. [41] Lightning uses his Boiling Sickle to knock the studs off from Neptuneman's shirt, which attach to his own costume, and then uses a Double Leg Suplex, which cracks off Neptuneman's mask. Mammothman forfeits the game and leaves the ring. [41] Neptuneman finally realises the meaning of Friendship Power, but the Five Disasters use a Perfect Decay Finale on him. [42]

This kills Neptuneman, as Mammothman leaves with Phoenixman. [42]
