Kinnikuman Wiki

A special chapter about the creation of the Kinniku Buster.

Summary[]

Kinnikuman studies the Kinniku Buster and uses it for the first time.

Story[]

Set during Kinnikuman's match against Warsman, in the finals of the Chojin Olympics, cracks begin to appear upon Warsman's mask.[1] Kinnikuman breaks free of a hold and takes Warsman into position for the Kinniku Buster, before the colour pages switch to a black-and-white flashback to 1980 in Hawaii, when Kinnikuman was training with Prince Kamehame.

Prince Kamehame sends mannequins hurtling towards Kinnikuman, in an attempt to teach him the Kinniku Buster, and he struggles to use the move correctly, as Prince Kamehame states it is so difficult that even he is yet to master the technique. Kamehame rewards Kinnikuman's eventual mastery of the technique by telling him that he should rename the move however he wishes.

A flash-forward reveals Kinnikuman using the Romero Special against Jesse Maivia, where - after winning the belt - Kinnikuman tries to gift the belt to Prince Kamehame. Prince Kamehame rejects the belt, but reminds Kinnikuman to rename the secret move taught to him, once the time is right.

Later, Kinnikuman is set against Wolfman at the the Chojin Olympics. He makes to use the technique, but decides against the technique at the last second. Prince Kamehame arrives and declares that he knows that Kinnikuman has practised in secret, but enquires why he has not yet put those moves into practise. Kinnikuman believes himself unworthy of the technique, but Prince Kamehame strikes him and tells him otherwise. Finally, the chapter returns to the finals of the Olympics.

Kinnikuman is subjected to a hold by Warsman, unable to break free, but Kinnikuman refuses to give up and finds inspiration from Ramenman. He uses the Kinniku Buster and wins against Warsman. This makes Kinnikuman the first two-time champion. Prince Kamehame watches the match, pleased that Kinnikuman has named the technique, and leaves feeling pride for Kinnikuman.[1]
