Introduction

Different users have access to different functions of the site. While anyone can do most things on this site - including reading and editing - only users with roles can access a few additional functions:

  • Deleting and restoring pages, page histories, and uploaded files
  • Locking (protecting) a page so it cannot be edited or renamed by users without admin rights
  • Blocking IP addresses or user names from editing; and very quick "rollback" of undesirable edits
  • Editing the interface by changing system messages and skins

Some Fandom staff members have full access to all Fandom.

What Do Roles Mean?

Content moderators are quasi-administrators, with the ability to delete and undelete pages, roll back edits, and semi-protect pages.

Administrators are users on the Kinnikuman Wiki with sysop (system operator) user access levels. This includes the ability to delete and undelete pages, roll back edits, protect and unprotect pages, block and unblock users, and edit the site's interface. Administrators are a group entrusted with maintenance tools.

Wiki Representatives are local Fandom Staff who are liaisons to global Fandom Staff and have user access levels above administrators. One Wiki Representative is assigned to each wiki. A Wiki Rep performs tasks at the request of the local community, but they are not treated as local administrators, and do not override them except to intervene against abuse of power.

Who are Our Administrators?

Content Moderators

Josh6243 is a trusted user with extensive knowledge of the manga, particularly the 2011 run. He contributes a considerable amount to articles, keeps various articles up-to-date, and has shown a good understanding of the rules, as well as a wonderful community spirit. He is a valued long-time user.

DaHumorist is a long-term user of Fandom, with vast experience as a editor, moderator, and even an administrator. He has great technical knowledge, with our wonderful Minor Character pages - and their templates - part of his creation, and he has worked tirelessly on various episode pages, complete with images and pieces of information.

Neon Alkaid is particularly skilled with the technical side of the wiki. The usage of templates, sliders, customised themes, bots, etc. are all thanks to Alkaid's amazing knack for technology, and she has years of Fandom experience and is happy to help with any questions, particularly related to the 'hows' of the wiki.

Administrators

KevinVolkov is more devoted to adding content, organisation, mediation, and formatting. A great deal of the articles have been turned from stubs into full and referenced articles, with navigation now easier overall. He's also always available to answer questions, particularly related to interactions and content.

JadeRonin is our new administrator recruited from off-site. They deal with the technical side of matters, such as various template knowledge, background design, and other necessary or needed updates. They will be around for any concerns you may have, and are happy to mediate disputes.

Wiki Representative

This wiki does not currently have a wiki representative.

We thank Stygies VIII for all their hard work as our former wiki representative, and wish them luck on all their future projects. We will update this section and our community if/when a new wiki representative is appointed.

What Can't Administrators Do?

Administrators should not use their administrator powers to settle editing disputes.

They cannot lock a page to a version they prefer in an editing dispute (in which vandalism is not a factor).

Administrator powers should be used to help keep the wiki clear of vandalism, spam, and users who make malicious edits, but not for simple disagreements between users acting in good faith. Ideally, an administrator shouldn't be considered "in charge".

The ideal administrator has a few extra abilities, but uses them to benefit the community.

Bureaucrat

One cannot be promoted to bureaucrat.

Demotions

The circumstances in which a person may be demoted are as follows:

  • They are inactive
    • This means interacting with the community less than once a week, through edits and replies to messages
  • Concerns are raised during probation periods
    • This may be from the community or by the administrators
  • There has been rule-breaking
    • This includes abuse of power or creating a hostile environment
  • Bureaucrat discretion
    • In extreme cases, such as harassment or hostile environments, the bureaucrat reserves the right to demote users for the health of the wiki, and to act as a mediator in any disagreements between local staff and users
